En 2010 se creó el Festival Interviolas con el fin de acoger a toda la comunidad de violistas colombianos y latinoamericanos. El festival brinda una variedad de clases y talleres sobre temas prácticos y enriquecedores, reúne un panel nacional e internacional de violistas distinguidos y realiza actuaciones en reconocidos auditorios de la ciudad. Desde entonces el festival se realiza cada dos años en el Conservatorio de Música de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Este concierto, que cierra el VIII Festival Interviolas de Bogotá, tendrá como director al alemán Alexander Gordon y como solista al italiano Simone Gramaglia.
