En Nochebuena, Drosselmeyer, un lejano pariente, llega una vez más para compartir las navidades junto a los padres, primos, tíos y abuelos de los hermanos Fritz y Clara, a quien le regala a Clara un cascanueces en forma de soldado. Sin embargo, a medianoche, los ratones emergen, el árbol de Navidad crece y el cascanueces cobra vida. Este montaje de Incolballet, dirigido por José Manuel Ghiso, rescata la coreografía del maestro chileno Jaime Pinto, un referente de la danza clásica en América Latina. Participan el Ballet Tosín, la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia y solistas del Ballet de la Ópera Nacional de Hungría.
